About our church...
Calvary United Methodist Church is a small Church located in the middle of a residential street in Kearny, NJ. It was founded about 130 years ago by a group of Swedish people living in the area. The congregation is a small one but their faith & commitment to helping others & spreading the word of God is enormous. They take pride in providing the children & people living in the Irvington Projects with clothing, food, & school supplies through a non-United Methodist church in Irvington. They also supply Stop & Shop gift cards to the Food Banks of several nearby towns because of their affiliation with Food for Friends ran by the Stop & Shop in Lyndhurst, NJ. They open the Church doors to all and strive to be sure that whoever comes thru those doors feel they are part of their Church Family.

The Apostle's Creed
I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of Heaven and Earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, Our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried; He descended to the dead. On the third day he rose again; He ascended into Heaven, is seated at the right hand of the Father, and will come again to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy universal church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body and the life everlasting. Amen
